When pimples dry, they form scabs. These scabs are the body’s natural way to protect itself and ensure that there is no infection and other problems related to pimple wounds. When your pimple dries of and scab forms, you can try and use some of the following home remedies:
Moisturize it:
It is important to keep the scab moisturized to avoid irritation and itchiness. However, using a chemical-rich moisturizer is not advised. To keep the scan moisturized you must use natural ingredients such as tea tree oil, aloe vera, etc.
Use a bandage:
Do not keep the scab exposed and instead apply a bandage over it to prevent any type of infection.
Medical treatment:
There are also some dermatologists who recommended treatment for dried pimples. The doctor would offer you an over-the-counter ointment for the scab. Also in case of infection, you will get a course of antibiotics prescribed by the dermatologist. It is important to read the signs of the infection or easy and effective treatment. If you feel any pain, itchiness or any sort of secretion around the scab, it is probably an infected site.
The best way is to prevent acne and any infection at the pimple site when they dry up.
