Here's Your Skincare Guide for Dry Skin During Monsoon

Digital Doctor 04 Aug, 2022

High humidity, untimely rain showers, and occasional thunderstorms make it clear that the monsoon season is here. However, for people with dry skin, the signs of monsoon season are entirely different. From uneven and patchy skin tone to dry, flaky and stretchy skin appearance, dry skin poses a different set of complications during one of the best seasons of the year. Gladly, it is possible to tame your dry skin during the rainy season and ensure you do not have to deal with complications like itchiness, redness, dryness, and skin flakes.

A professionally- approved monsoon skincare routine for dry skin is what you need to follow to manage your dry skin issues during the wet and humid season.

Hydrate your body and feel the change if your skin

One of the most important aspects of dry skin is that it is led by the lack of water content in your body, if your body is parched, the skin would automatically appear dry and patchy. To avoid dry skin problems from occurring or getting worse, you must drink plenty of fluids including water, fresh juices, and herbal teas.

Make moisturizer your best friend

While you work on your body’s hydration, you need to ensure that the hydration does not leave your skin. Moisturization is a way to trap moisture in the skin and prevent drying. While the high humidity levels would encourage you to skip the moisturizing part, you must stick to the daily use of dry skin-friendly moisturizer. A get-based moisturizer is a great help but for extremely dry skin, make a cream-based moisturizer your best friend.

Review your makeup

A wide range of makeup products in your drawer might not be suitable for the monsoon season. Experts recommend using light water-based primers, water-based foundations, and powder blushes as they do not clog the pores and allow your skin to breathe. Oil-based makeup products can suffocate your skin and make it dull and flaky.

Say no to hot water

Never should you use extremely hot or cold water to wash your face. You must wash your face twice daily but only with lukewarm water or take cold water but not extreme. Hot water can rip off the essential oils from your skin, making the dryness even worse.

Follow a healthy diet

Do not ditch your fruits and vegetable during monsoon season. What you eat directly affects the way your skin looks as the skin gets nutrients to glow and flourish from the food only. Make sure you eat seasonal fruits and veggies and consume dairy items such as milk, curd, and cheese.

Managing dry skin during the winter season can be tough but you can fight the troubles by taking the right care of your skin. Follow this regime and you can say goodbye to dry skin problems during monsoon, forever.
