How to Care for Acne-Prone Skin During Monsoon

Digital Doctor 16 Aug, 2022

Your fight with acne is probably the toughest battle you would ever face. The condition becomes even worse during the monsoon season when high humidity levels make your skin produce more oil than ever. A strategic skincare routine is integral to maintaining healthy skin and preventing acne during monsoon.

Here are some proven skincare tips that can help you manage your acne-prone skin and get naturally even and glowing skin.

Cleansing

Never harshly handle your skin. The gentler you are with your approach, the better the results. Using a mild and chemical-free cleanser is recommended to handle excessive oil production. Drying out of the skin is the illest side effect of harsh chemicals as it leaves the pores open where oil and dirt sit up to stimulate acne.  A mild cleanser, twice or thrice a day will help you remove excess oil while ensuring soft and supple skin.

Toning

When it rains, a bottle of toner is your skin’s best friend. Whatever impurities are left behind after cleansing the face are removed with toning. You must consider using all-natural and organic toners with ingredients like tea tree, rose water, or aloe vera. A clarifying skin toner will help maintain the natural pH balance of the skin.

Moisturizing

Do not forget to use an effective moisturizer on your face. During the rainy season, skin tends to lose its moisture due to high humidity levels. Make sure you create an effective barrier on your skin with a reliable moisturizer and prevent hydration loss. A gel-based moisturizer will work best for your oily skin as it is effective against excessive sebum production.

Sunscreen

Even if the sun is hard to see, the UV rays and contamination in the atmosphere can affect your skin dangerously. Do not forget to apply sunscreen before you step out of the house. Sunscreen protects you against sunburn along with many other impurities.

Exfoliating

Indulge in an exfoliation session at least twice a week to ensure dead skin is removed and new cells on your face get a chance to breathe free.

Alongside these tips, you must level up your hydration game as well. The more water you put inside your body the better your skin gets and you can prevent acne breakouts in the first place. Monsoon season can be hard on you if you have oily skin. Try following the skincare regimen mentioned above and manage your oily skin effortlessly during the humid season.
