What Is An Acne Control Peel

Digital Doctor 03 Feb, 2025

There are a handful of effective chemical peels that work on acne control and scar treatment. In a chemical peel treatment, an acidic solution is applied by an experienced dermatologist on the skin, the solution then penetrates the skin layers and works on the dead skin, unclogged pores and allows the new skin cells to form.

There are 3 types of chemical peels for acne control and treatment: Superficial, medium and deep peels. As per the name, these peels affect the superficial, middle and deep tissues of the skin.

It is important to note that a chemical peel treatment must be administered by an experienced dermatologist only. There are a variety of chemical peels types available in the market including Salicylic Acid peel, Glycolic Acid Peel, TCA (Trichloroacetic acid) Peel, Phenol Peel and Fruit Acid Peel. Depending upon your skin type and condition, the dermatologist will prescribe you the right type of peel. The dermatologists also keep in mind the texture, and problem of your skin to ensure effective treatment.

It will take around 4-7 days to recover from the treatment and post this, you will feel a great change in your skin type and acne problem.
