Gandhi Jayanti in India is celebrated in India in the honour of the father our nation, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi on his birthday, who is known as the Father of our nation. Gandhiji preached and practiced non-violence and hence this day is celebrated as International day of non-violence all around the globe. Mahatma Gandhi was the pioneer of truth and righteousness. He believed and proved to the entire world that freedom could be achieved without any form of violence. He always believed in living a simple life and thinking big. He lived his life with acceptance, faith in god, and followed the path of spirituality.
Even today he is a source of inspiration to many political leaders all over the globe. October 2nd is a national holiday in India to celebrate his contribution to India in India’s freedom movement. Citizens from all walks of lives, caste and religion come together to celebrate this auspicious day. Mahatma Gandhi was one of the key people in fighting against the evil in the society such as child marriage, caste system, untouchability and went around creating awareness about living in equality and unity.
On this Gandhi Jayanti, let us promise ourselves to practice only what is right and serve our nation in every little way we can as responsible citizens. Jai Hindi!
